Hardback. An Autobiography. A Jack the Ripper associated title - the author was Assistant Commissioner, Metropolitan Police CID and the officer in charge of the unsolved Whitechapel murders investigation involving Jack the Ripper, from October 6, 1888, (taking up his post at Scotland Yard on the day of Mary Ann Nichols' murder) until the file was closed in 1892. The excellent reference book 'The Jack the Ripper A to Z' by Begg, Fido and Skinner (signed copies of which can be obtained from my website) contains an extremely comprehensive entry for Dr (later Sir Robert) Anderson. With Frontis. portrait of Sir Robert with tissue-guard) + Appendix. 295pp. lge. 8vo. h/back. With previous owner's b/plate to fpd, lightly browned edges and eps, indentions of 'Property of....' which had been written to ffep and now erased, corners bumped, some water damage to fr. and back covers (see images), gilt lettering bright on fr. cover but a little dull on sp. G+. A Scarce Jack the Ripper related title. A fairly heavy book which may require additional postage if shipped overseas.
