Clean and bright with some light repairs and new eps to vol. 2. Fr. hinge beginning to show in vol. 1, sl. soiling to both vols. This set came from the library of Erich Quayle (a highly respected and renowned author and authority, writing on many different aspects of book collecting and bibliography), with his neat pencil notations to the fr. pd of the first vol. Protected by a tailor-made, leather spined, black morocco clamshell case. The first English detective Yellow Back, together with Series 2 published in 1859.
