It was, at the time, the longest prison sentence ever handed down by a British court. In spite of his conviction, based on uncorroborated confession evidence, Paul was determined to prove his innocence. Fifteen years later, in October 1989, the Crown finally admitted that investigating officers had lied at the original trial. The conviction was overturned and Paul and his 3 co-accused, together known as the Guildford Four, were released. This book is the story of Paul's life.
