With a Preface by The Earl of Birkenhead. The author, born in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1867, was a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand. These memoirs show what striving, what trials, what industry, courage, integrity, and ambition went to the making of so magnificent a career. The book was published posthumously, as before the manuscript reached the publishers in London, the author died, having been suffering from cancer.
