Hardback. BCA reprint. With a Postscript by Anthony Storr. On February 9, 1983, Dennis Nilsen was arrested in connection with the uncovering of human remains in a manhole outside his home in Muswell Hill. Within the next few days, Nilsen confessed to a total of 15 murders over a period of 4-yrs., only 2 of his victims had ever been reported as missing. The author examines the sort of society it is in which 15 men disappear practically unnoticed. The forlorn life of Nilsen, his all but loveless childhood, his gradual and fatal obsession with the sexuality of death, the increasing isolation of his adulthood, the horrific squalor of his existence at the time of his arrest, is compellingly drawn and scrupulously examined. Illus., Appendix, Bibliog. and Notes. 336pp. 8vo. h/back. From the library of Paul Daniel, ex-editor of the 'Ripperologist' magazine (December 1996 No. 8 - February 2000 No. 27) with his name rubber stamp, and date in green felt tip to bep. With lightly browned pp. o/w Nr. F. in F. protected dw.
