Hardback. World Premiere Edition limited to 500 copies. David Kent sadly died just before this play based on the case of Lizzie Borden was premiered at the Little Theatre of Fall River in July 1992. Lizzie was accused of the murder of her parents at their home on Second Street, Fall River in 1892. The case was a sensation as the respectable spinster from a good background faced trial. Andrew Borden and his wife Abby - Lizzie's stepmother - were brutally hacked to death on a hot August afternoon, when no-one else but Lizzie was in the house. Public opinion mounted against her, but by the time the trial took place it had swung in her favour. She was found not guilty and lived out her days in Fall River. The gripping story in play form, with Cast of Characters, stage directions etc. 77pp. 8vo. h/back. With 2 loosely inserted b/w postcards of the Borden house. Red cloth with gilt titles and dec.
