In the autumn of 1888 a serial killer was at large in the East End of London. Within a period of 10 weeks he struck 5 times. His victims were the women who would give themselves to anyone who would pay them the price of a glass of gin. Their killer was never caught and has been the subject of speculation and controversy ever since. To this day he is known simply as "Jack the Ripper".
