Hardback. ...At the Court of King's-Bench, Middlesex, on Monday the 21st of February, 1803. With Introduction in French and English. John Peltier was a French journalist, and founder of royalist pamphlet 'Les Actes des Apôtres'. In 1792 he fled to England where he published a series of attacks against the Republic, under the title of 'Tableau de Paris'. Between 1794 and 1802 he published a journal, 'L'Ambigu', violently attacking Napoleon. He was found guilty, but not called up for judgement, ie the case was dropped. He returned to France in 1820. With Table of Contents and Appendix. 8vo. h/back. With previous owner's small name label to bpd. Leather covers with decorated edges in gilt, but with new spine/title label. Vg+
