For example, Richard Turpin, who was executed in York in 1739 for highway robbery, and then there was Earl Ferrers of Leicester, who was executed at Tyburn in 1760 for murdering his manager...or the infamous Captain John Kidd who was executed at Execution Dock, London, in 1701 for piracy on the high seas.
