This book contains stories of men who committed murder within the immediate area of the city of Birmingham during the 20th century, and who went on to pay the ultimate penalty of death at the end of a rope. Since this would not include every execution in the city's jail, there is an Appendix which details other Birmingham hangings and so the true crime historian can use this as a complete reference work.
